Szeged, Hungary
9–10 May 2002
Foreword
The 4th Regional Conference on Environment and Health of the
Danube-Kris-Mures-Tisa Euroregion was held on 9–10 May 2000 in Szeged, Hungary, organized by the
Szeged Regional Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the Department of Public Health,
University of Szeged. This scientific meeting gave another opportunity for the exchange of
information among the region's professionals working in the field of environment and, at the same
time, for the continuation of discussions about solving the common theoretical and practical
environmental problems of the Euroregion.
The organisers would like to express their thanks to the regional Academic Committee, personally to its leader, Academician Dr. Frigyes Solymosi, for ena-bling the the conference to be organised on their premises, and also to the Assembly of Csongrád County (Hungary), and especially Vice Chairman Dr. László Botka, for the financial support. Without the contribution of the above-mentioned institutions and persons it would not have been possible to organise the meeting.
We also thank the Editorial Board of Central European Journal of
Occupational and Environmental Medicine, especially Managing Editor Dr. Attila Mitsányi,
for publishing selected papers of the Conference.
