Abstract:
The present work was carried out to investigate the dominant water
and sediment bacterial pollution indicators which are growing on selective
and differential media. Two samples of water and sediments were collected
at the border of Budapest at Római-part, in the axis of Nánási
Street (1655 river km). Water sample was collected from the surface layer,
meanwhile sediment sample was collected at 1.5 m water depth. The current
results showed that 51 and 45 strains from the water and sediment samples
were isolated, respectively. The highly dominant taxons for the water sample
were Alcaligenes sp. and Enterobacter sp. On the other hand
the most dominant taxons were Xanthobacter sp. and Pseudomonas sp.
The details of the results will be discussed later.
